Celebration on the new site

CCE is going to build a new dormitory for 30 patients. 300 people attended the celebration of the site on Saturday 24 March. Grom Moges, chairman of the Norwegian-CCE Board, said that construction can start in a few weeks, provided that the building application glides smoothly through and that financing will be arranged soon. A new cancer home to be built...

The Ethiopian government granted CCE a 2 hectare land in Burayu near Addis Ababa to build a much bigger cancer home. This has given us an encouragment in that the Ethiopian government has given a great recognition to the work we are doing to help poor cancer patients. Read more...

Cancer Care Ethiopia, Helping the helpless...

In Ethiopia,hospital records show that there are more than 150,000 cancer cases per year. However, Cancer is the most neglected & least prioritized health issue in Ethiopia.

Cancer patients are practically one of the most under served part of the community in the country and there is no efficient cancer control program in place. This led to the very birth of the Cancer Care Ethiopia (CCE). Read more about how it started here.

A safe home for cancer patients

Cancer patients get good food and a comfortable shelter in the CCE-home in the capital Addis Ababa. It was opened on November 14th, 2009.
The CCE-home is located in an idyllic garden in Addis Ababa. It holds a Norwegian standard and is comfortable for the poor Ethiopian cancer patients.
The home currently accommodates 15 patients with one relative each to comfort them. Read more here...
